Announcement on the Particulate Matter measurements at Paphos Traffic Station

The Department of Labour Inspection of the Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance informs the public that due to problems in the proper operation of the automatic instrument for measuring the concentrations of particulate matter of diameters smaller than 10 μm and 2.5 μm (PM10 and PM2.5) installed at the Paphos Traffic Station, the instrument will be out of service for the time being until its repair.

Consequently, no PM10 or PM2.5 measurements will be available for Paphos Traffic on the Air Quality website until the instrument resumes operation. It is recommended that the nearest station at Limassol Traffic is monitored in case of a dust episode, as such episodes tend to be nationwide due to the small size of the island. The measurements at the nearest station during a dust episode are indicative of the larger area and may be relied on until the instrument fault is resolved.
